The idea for woii began with the desire to give young students without their own winery the opportunity to make their own wine. This allows them to gain valuable practical experience alongside their studies in Geisenheim—the theoretical part—that will strengthen them for their future in the wine world.

Our approach goes far beyond the university: We see it as a contribution to preserving German wine culture and small wineries. More and more traditional businesses are facing the challenge of finding new successors. The woiimaker could be the solution – young, competent talents who will take over and continue to manage such wineries for the long term.
That's why woii has ten so-called wine-making stations. These stations are available to individuals or small groups for the duration of a wine year.

The concept: The woiimakers take responsibility for their own small batch of wine (250–500 liters) – from pruning to harvesting to bottling. We provide support throughout the process. Through the woiimaker project, young talents can make a name for themselves in the wine world and gain real-world experience even before they graduate.
